An asparagus dinner for 40 friends and partners.
For the opening of the new private dining at KITCHEN 55 in Amsterdam, A Culinary Affair hosted its yearly asparagus dinner for 40 friends and partners, with a five-course spring menu and wines from our regular suppliers.
On Friday 1 May 2026, KITCHEN 55 opened the doors of its new private dining in Amsterdam to friends and partners. Together we hosted our yearly asparagus dinner: an informal evening to catch up, meet new faces and spend time around the table, from 17.00 to 21.00 h.
Reception
Guests were welcomed with smoked and salted almonds and Cerignola olives, followed by freshly cut mortadella and jamón ibérico, and pane carasau with truffle Pecorino from Pinna and fig confit.
The asparagus menu
Dinner opened with a white asparagus soup with Osetra caviar from House of Caviar, followed by a salad of green and white asparagus with lemon, tarragon and Ibérico ham. Next came poached halibut with grilled courgette, white asparagus, leek oil and crispy leek, then slow braised lamb shoulder with jus bordelaise, grilled baby gem and a light celeriac crème. To finish: Dutch strawberries with Toscanini panna cotta and basil.
Drinks
The wines were selected with our long-time suppliers De Gouden Ton and Karakter Wijnimport: Billecart-Salmon Brut in magnum, a Bernard Defaix Chardonnay and Crystallum Peter Max.
