For a 40th birthday, A Culinary Affair hosted a dinner and party for 68 guests in the Wintertuin of Botanische Tuin Zuidas in Amsterdam, with shared starters, slow-braised short rib and a live singer.
On 9 May 2026, a 40th birthday was celebrated with 68 friends and family in the Wintertuin of Botanische Tuin Zuidas. A Culinary Affair took care of the full evening: reception, dinner and party, all centred on togetherness and warm hospitality.
The venue
Botanische Tuin Zuidas offers a green, visually striking setting in the heart of Amsterdam's business district, and gave us the creative freedom to design the entire concept, from the long dinner tables to the festival lights over the party.
The menu
The reception started with crostini with artichoke tapenade and Prosciutto di Parma, classic steak tartare and blini with smoked salmon, alongside our signature plateaux with truffle Pecorino and pane carasau. At the table: burrata with heirloom tomatoes and charred asparagus with romesco to share, slow-braised short rib with pommes Amandine and ratatouille Provençal, and a classic pavlova with seasonal strawberries.
The party
After dinner the Wintertuin turned into a party, with festival light strings and uplights, a live singer and a round of shots with sparklers to kick things off.
